253 Mathilde
A dark, slow-rotating C-type asteroid measuring 53 kilometers across that was visited by the NEAR Shoemaker spacecraft in 1997, revealing a heavily cratered surface with at least five craters larger than 20 kilometers in diameter.
BepiColombo
A joint mission to Mercury launched in 2018 consisting of two orbiters that will study the planet's composition, magnetosphere, and exosphere after arriving in late 2025 following a complex series of gravity assists from Earth, Venus, and Mercury itself.
Psyche
A robotic spacecraft launched in October 2023 that will use solar-electric propulsion to reach and study the metal-rich asteroid 16 Psyche, believed to be the exposed core of an ancient protoplanet.
